Local CDL Class Already Paying Off For Graduates

Round Top Family Library hosted a commercial drivers license class put on by Smithville Workforce Training Center. Six students graduated from the class on April 24. One of those was Joshua Matus. He already found a job as a truck driver for U.S. Field Services in Giddings.

AMEN Serves 396 Families in April

The AMEN Food Pantry continued to be remarkably busy in the month of April. A total of 396 families were served for the month for a total of 1215 individuals. Food donations received were 6,615 pounds. Looking back to 2023, the pantry served 256 families and required eightyfour volunteers for a total of 154 hours. Hot Oil Truck Flips Outside La Grange

It took three heavy duty tow wreckers to get this hot oil truck back on its wheels Friday morning. The crash happened around 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 3, on Schubert Rd. north of La Grange.
