Round Top Chili Cook Off Winners

The Round Top Family Library held their 18th Annual Chili Cook Off on Saturday, Jan. 21. The cold, rainy weather that day was perfect for chili tasting.

The Burton Sons of the American Legion won first place. The Warrenton Crew came in second. Out of Your League, a team composed of juniors at Round Top-Carmine High School, placed third.

Bybee Cookers won People’s Choice and the Golden Spoon awards, which they also won last year. Showmanship went to the Round Top-Carmine Senior Class.

In addition to chili, many of the teams offered hot dogs with special toppings to go with the chili. There was also a dessert table loaded with brownies and cookies of all shapes and flavors.

Many of the chili teams return year after year to the event. The 2nd Place, People’s Choice Chili and Golden Spoon winners were all returning teams that have won in previous years.

The 1st and 3rd place winners were newcomers to the cook off.

Black Cat Choir provided live music at the cook off. Auctioneer Heather Kaspar conducted a live auction. There was also a book sale and a kids fun table.

Organizers wished to thank all of the volunteers and the 22 chili teams that competed this year. All proceeds fund the annual operating expenses of the Round Top Family Library.
