Fire Department Play

Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department is putting on a play by Sarah Tuft called 110 Stories on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. It details the attacks on Sept. 11. From the first crash at the Twin Towers in New York City, the play, 110 Stories, captures a moment-by-moment journey through the 9/11 experience as told by actual eye witnesses including fire fighters, police, ironworkers, chaplains, K9 handlers, nurses, photo journalist and the homeless who witnessed the horrific evens and saved lives that day. This is a very moving theater rendition of those survivors.

This is a fundraiser for the department. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased through the fire fighters or text Karen Jacobs at (281) 682-5625 to make arrangements for ticket purchases. The play will take place at the fire station at 333 N. 3rd Street across the tracks from the Muldoon Mercantile.

Out and About

Devon Boehnke enjoyed a weekend visit from his son and grandson, Jeremy and Dylan Wells along with one of Dylan’s friends. They were down to help work cows and enjoy some country life.

Jennifer and Clay Rightmer held a belated birthday party for their daughter Lane Rightmer. Joining in the fun was Jennifer’s dad Will Howard of Horseshoe Bay and her sister Julie Zavala of Pflugerville. Lane’s brother Reed Rightmer also got to take a break from school and drove in from Houston.

Nancie Blair took off for a trip up to Fort Worth to visit with her mom, Elaine Lang. While in Fort Worth she also got to see her great niece, Carolina and take her out for pizza and live music. They enjoyed a band called “The British Are Coming.” It was a great time. They all went shopping on Saturday and then Sunday after church they got to watch baseball all afternoon.

Dana Kulak took off recently for a “Girls Trip” with her mom, Virginia Tappe and sisters, Beth Field and April Pospisil. The ladies all gathered at Beth’s house in Magnolia, so they could fly out of Houston to Seattle to catch a ship for an Alaskan cruise. They left a few days early, so they could enjoy Seattle and the surrounding area before they started their cruise. They enjoyed some shipboard fun and food as they toured Ketchikan, Juno and Skagway ports of call in Alaska and Victoria, British Columbia Canada before coming back to Seattle and having to come back home. It was some great memories for the “girls.”

Rain

The biggest news in a while is that the Muldoon area got rain. It has been the most moisture the whole area has seen in months. Showers were much more wide spread over this past week and have helped, but there are still big cracks in the ground. Over an inch fell on one day. All the moisture is very welcomed by the ranchers in the area.

School Started

Schools have started and buses are running. This means that kids will be out and about more and some will be waiting for that bus beside the roads. Always stop when the red lights are flashing.
