Holy Cross Lutheran Church Celebrates 150th Anniversary -
This black wedding dress, worn by Minna May Pillack in 1896, is representative of the black wedding gowns that Wendish brides wore when they married at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The black wedding dress tradition continued until around 1910.
Holy Cross Lutheran in Warda celebrated its 150th anniversary last Sunday. The combined services had an attendance of 488 people. Several former members including former pastors were in attendance.
Attendees enjoyed sharing memories as they looked at the many displays set up throughout the area at the Anniversary Celebration of Holy Cross in Warda.
Faith Lutheran High School Summer Youth Camps are back. FLHS is excited to offer a variety of camps for youth this summer. Ages are for grades next school year.

Faith Lutheran High School is proud to present “The Spring Thing,” a showcase of the students work in the fine arts department. This will include vocal, instrumental and handbell pieces. Everyone is invited to join them for this event on Wednesday May 10 at 7 p.m.
Faith Lutheran High School will be holding their annual golf tournament fundraiser on Saturday, May 13 at Frisch Auf Country Club in La Grange. Faith Lutheran High School will have part time openings on its faculty for the 2023-24 academic year. Interested individuals who teach any subject are encouraged to apply, but science, social studies, English or electives are sought after skills. Everyone is invited to join in the weekly Chapel Worship Service every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
FLHS Scholarship
Applications are now being accepted for an academic- based scholarship from the Amanda (Zoch) Knox Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund will pay for the full tuition for an upcoming 9th grade student of Faith Lutheran High School beginning in the Fall of 2023. Applications are available from Mrs. Kueck (979) 242-2889 or from Cyndy Zoch at cyndy.zoch@gmail.com. Applications are due May 1, 2023.
Holy Cross Lutheran
The Couples Club at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda will have their annual BBQ Chicken Dinner on Mothers Days, May 14. Chickens are $13 and cups of sauce are $3. Pick up is at Holy Cross picnic grounds from 10:30 a.m.-noon. You may place your order by calling the church office at: (979) 242-3333. Deadline to preorder is Monday May 8.
Services at Holy Cross Lutheran are Sunday at 9 a.m. Bible Class and Sunday school follows the morning service.
