Cole Dismukes, age 39, entered Heaven on the banks of the Frio River Sunday, July 30, 2023.

Cole Matthew Dismukes was born Nov. 15, 1983, at Bellville General Hospital in Bellville to parents Leonard “Poncho” and Julie Renfrow Dismukes. He was a 2002 graduate of Brenham High School and a 2006 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors in Agricultural Business.

Cole started his journey in the agricultural industry as an employee at Tractor Supply Company. Even after his promotion at TSC to assistant manager, his drive and determination propelled him to obtain his goal of owning a business. In 2007, Cole and Preston Davis began their journey as business partners with purchasing their first business, Round Top Farm & Ranch. Their hard work and success led to multiple business ventures that would arise in the future with the purchase of Somerville Farm & Ranch in 2011, Texas Star Transport in 2012, transferring ownership of Round Top Farm & Ranch in 2017, and purchasing La Grange Farm & Ranch in 2020. The newest venture in La Grange brought to life their opportunity to finally customize their own feed line, Pro-Gain Feeds.

While Cole was a diligent businessman, he knew the value of life and the importance of enjoying “God’s country.” He enjoyed his down time by checking cows, shredding pastures, hunting in the Hill Country, fishing in Matagorda, going out of state and even out of the country for a variety of hunting expeditions, and relaxing in the water of the Frio River. Cole enjoyed giving back to the youth participants of the Washington, Burleson, and Fayette County fairs by making sure their hard work was rewarded. Cole saw the great value and importance of the local 4H and FFA programs. He felt the leadership opportunities and responsibility of tending to the land and animals were crucial for building a youth’s character. With his passion for giving, it is a no brainer that Christmas was his favorite time of year. Cole enjoyed sitting back and watching his loved ones, especially Audrey, Callie, Wyatt, Mia and Elaina light up while opening gifts from him. Cole was an amazing man with a contagious smile and blue eyes that would light up any room he entered. He was a man of integrity and generosity that lived a life of serving and whose friendship is unmatched. He had a way of not only making others feel welcomed but also that they mattered. To know Cole, was to be loved by Cole. Cole enjoyed a hot cup of coffee and good conversations each morning whether at work or on vacation. He loved supporting his nieces and “nephew” in all their extracurricular activities, spoiling them along the way, and never missing out on the opportunity to encourage them while holding them accountable. He left a legacy that inspires all to be more like him.

Cole was preceded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Sarah Dismukes and Garth “Bud” and Juanita Renfrow, and uncle Joe Dismukes.

He is survived by his parents, Poncho and Julie Dismukes, brother and sisterin- law Chad and Amanda Dismukes, nieces Audrey and Callie Dismukes, business partner and life long friend Preston and Olivia Davis and children Wyatt and Mia Davis, aunts and uncles Jan and Len Hill and children, and Kristi and Carl Hopkins and children.
