Fayette Co. Unemployment Update

The Texas Workforce Commission announced that 85 more Fayette County residents filed for unemployment benefits for the week ending May 2. That means that for the six week span ending May 2, no week had less that 70 new Fayette County residents applying for unemployment benefits. In a typical week before the coronavirus, filings per a week in Fayette County were typically in the single digits.

Main Street Hosting Drive-In Movie Nights

La Grange Main Street is changing with the times and taking a different spin on Movie Nights on the Square. They have updated their plans to the Fayette County Fairgrounds for a Drive-In movie experience. Yes, you read that right..drive-in movies in Fayette County are coming in June. The Department of State Health Services Zoonosis Control Branch held its annual statewide “Rabies Awareness & Prevention Poster Contest” for K through 12th grade.
