Linemen Challenge

As part of Saturday’s 7-on-7 football tournament in La Grange, there was also a Lineman Challenge for the big guys, which was won by Austin LBJ (in front of the other competitors, above). Part of the linemen challenge was a timed truck push challenge (right).

Shaw Makes History for Fayetteville Golf

Eva Shaw, a sophomore at Fayetteville ISD, competed in the State 1A Golf Tournament in Leander at Crystal Fall Golf Club May 6 and 7. She is the first girl to ever go to state in golf for Fayetteville.

Flatonia Rolls To Third Round

The Flatonia Bulldog baseball team downed the Port Aransas Marlins last week to win a 2A Area championship. This best of three playoff series was played at Riverside Stadium in Victoria. Flatonia won in two straight games, with 8-4 and 6-5 victories.

Salado Ends Leps Baseball Season

La Grange’s baseball season came as they were swept in a best-of-three second round 4A playoff series against Salado. Thursday the Leps lost 4-0 as Salado’s Logan Flores pitched a complete game four hitter.

Second Round High School Baseball Playoffs

baseball team (15-15) faces Salado (19-9-1) in the 4Asecond round. Their best-of-three series begins Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Thrall. Game 2 will be Friday back in Thrall at 4:30 p.m. with a Game 3 to follow if necessary.

Jayse Janda a Star for Shorthorns

Jayse Janda has had a breakout sophomore season for Schulenburg, starring in four different sports. Last week was one of his biggest yet, as he played in the state golf tournament and, as a catcher, helped lead the Shorthorn baseball team to a comefrom- behind opening round playoff series win over Bracket.
