Elva Bunte Bohot, 92, of Mullins Prairie, passed away peacefully in her home on April 23, 2024.

Elva was born in La Grange on Dec. 5, 1931, the daughter of Edward Morris Bunte and Lydia Lillie Mary Annie Creppon Bunte. She married Victor Calvin Bohot on Oct. 9, 1950 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where Victor was serving in the United States Army.

Elva was a graduate of the La Grange High School Class of 1949. She furthered her education at Durham’s Business College in Austin. She worked as a medical assistant at the clinic in Weimar and then managed the Gold Bond Gift Store in La Grange. Elva also spent a lifetime farming and gardening at her home in Mullins Prairie and raising her three sons.

Elva was a founding member of the AMEN organization. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Mary Martha Guild of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange.

She enjoyed hobbies such as researching her family’s history, crocheting, sewing and other arts and crafts.

She is survived by two sons: Leland Bohot and wife, Sharon, of Houston; Howard Bohot and wife, Phyllis, of La Grange; and daughter-in-law, Becky Bohot of La Grange; one grandson, Matthew Bohot; three granddaughters: Angela Bohot, Zabrina and Mike Sloan, and Kristen Vandever and husband, Josh, of La Grange; four great granddaughters: Abigail Karstedt, Mikayla Sloan and Rebekka Aleman and Haley Vandever; and two great grandsons, Nickolus Sloan and Mason Vandever; two great-great grandchildren: Averleigh Jory and Anthony Jory; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Bohot; her son, Calvin Bohot; and her parents: Edward and Lydia Bunte.

Avisitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin St., La Grange, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Burial will follow at the La Grange City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange; VFW Auxiliary Post #5254, La Grange; American Legion Auxiliary Unit #102, La Grange; or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
